TapouT Announces Licensing Partner PS Brands, LLC

New York, February 9th, 2011 – TapouT, an Authentic Brands Group company, signed a multi-year agreement with PS Brands, LLC to roll out a line of TapouT inspired socks for the US in Spring 2011.

PS Brands will manufacture and distribute socks with edgy and athletic inspired designs for men, women and children, in addition to a technical line of microfiber athletic socks. The Spring 2011 collection will capture the graphic look of the brand’s heritage.

PS Brands Sends 5,000 Pairs of Socks to Haiti

PS Brands recently donated 5,000 pairs of softie socks to the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

“We need to react quickly when we see something this catastrophic, these are helpless victims, and socks are a staple necessity,” says Elie Levy, chief executive officer of PS Brands. “I chose softie socks because they are one size fits all and gender neutral.”

The socks sent to Haiti were donated through Fashion Delivers. Learn more.

In 2009, PS Brands/Planet Sox donated more than 65,000 pairs of socks to a variety of charities and homeless shelters, including Hannah’s Socks and Sloan Catering Children Cancer Center.

PS Brands Buys SunTime

The assets of SunTime, an accessories importer, have been purchased by PS Brands.

SunTime, which manufacturers sunglasses, flip-flops, slippers and watches, will move into PS Brands’ showroom and design offices in New York City. Steve Bissu, who has been running the day-to-day operations of SunTime since 2006, will transition as vice president of the SunTime division.

“I am happy to partner with Steve, his line of business greatly complements our sock business, our busy seasons are polar opposites, giving us a more balanced business model,” says Elie Levy, chief executive officer of PS Brands. “SunTime will be based within our offices, allowing Steve’s team to feed off of our synergies in all areas; licensing, sales, design, etc.”

Steve Bissu, who has been running Suntime, said “Elie runs a great operation, his team is aggressive and yet focused, in the short time since we moved in, we have signed over 10 licenses and opened a wide range of new customers, I am seeing the benefits already”.

PS Brands to Distribute Fila Socks in U.S.

Fila Luxembourg signed a multi-year agreement with PS Brands to roll out socks in spring 2010 across the U.S.

The Fila-branded line will include a wide array of men’s, women’s, boy’s and girl’s athletic-inspired socks. A more technical athletic sock line is also planned.

“We are thrilled to partner with Fila to develop and distribute a range of socks to complement Fila’s apparel and footwear collections,” says Elie Levy, chief executive officer of PS Brands. “Fila is a premiere global athletic brand and provides distinctive merchandise for today’s active consumer. Our spring 2010 line captures the essence of that competitive spirit and I look forward to working with the team at Fila to strengthen the brand’s position in the market.”

PS Brands holds licenses to Coleman and Esprit and is also a sock licensee for Disney, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks and Mattel.

Fila, which was established in Italy in 1911, is a manufacturer of footwear and apparel for sport and leisure. Many of the company’s products are endorsed by professional athletes from around the world.

Caribbean Joe Adds Shades with PS Brands

A line of Caribbean Joe-branded sunglasses from Suntime, a division of PS Brands, will hit retail in summer 2010. The lifestyle brand is owned by Brand Matter.

The sunglasses range for men, women and kids will be launched at Caribbean Joe’s current retail distribution at department and specialty stores. The license agreement between PS Brands and Brand Matter also includes the Jamaica Bay, Havana Jack’s Cafe and CJ Breeze trademarks.

“The boundaries of what we can design and develop for the Caribbean Joe brand are endless, the brand extends to beach, lifestyle and fashion,” says Steve Bissu, vice president of Suntime. “I am pleased with the initial buzz the line has created.”

Caribbean Joe’s current product line includes women’s, men’s and kids’ sportswear, swim, eyewear, women’s fragrances, luggage, shoes and handbags, footwear, headwear and women’s sleepwear in the U.S. and Canada.

Wichita, KS, October 1st, 2009: PS Brands, LLC was granted the exclusive rights to manufacture & distribute Coleman® socks for men’s & ladies in the USA & Canada.

The Coleman Company, part of the The Jarden Corporation is well known for it’s outdoor camping product, has been making deep strides in the softlines arena with licenses for Footwear & Apparel signed recently. The immediate focus will be Sporting Goods chains, Mass Chains and Outdoor Specialty stores.

More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman. And the company he founded would change life in America. A fascinating saga, if we do say so ourselves.
