Caribbean Joe Adds Shades with PS Brands

A line of Caribbean Joe-branded sunglasses from Suntime, a division of PS Brands, will hit retail in summer 2010. The lifestyle brand is owned by Brand Matter.

The sunglasses range for men, women and kids will be launched at Caribbean Joe’s current retail distribution at department and specialty stores. The license agreement between PS Brands and Brand Matter also includes the Jamaica Bay, Havana Jack’s Cafe and CJ Breeze trademarks.

“The boundaries of what we can design and develop for the Caribbean Joe brand are endless, the brand extends to beach, lifestyle and fashion,” says Steve Bissu, vice president of Suntime. “I am pleased with the initial buzz the line has created.”

Caribbean Joe’s current product line includes women’s, men’s and kids’ sportswear, swim, eyewear, women’s fragrances, luggage, shoes and handbags, footwear, headwear and women’s sleepwear in the U.S. and Canada.

The Coleman Company, part of the The Jarden Corporation is well known for it’s outdoor camping product, has been making deep strides in the softlines arena with licenses for Footwear & Apparel signed recently. The immediate focus will be Sporting Goods chains, Mass Chains and Outdoor Specialty stores.

Esprit Names PS Brands as Hosiery Partner

PS Brands will launch a spring 2010 collection of Esprit-branded socks and hosiery for the U.S.

The socks and hosiery line will include sizes and styles for women, kids and infants.

“The Esprit brand represents a global fashion brand, providing distinctive trend merchandise for today’s contemporary customer,” says Elie Levy, president and chief executive officer of PS Brands. “We intend on capturing that spirit with an inspired collection of fun, fashionable legwear. PS Brands LLC buys Assets of Planet Sox Holdings, LLC

Manhattan, NY – January 15th, 2009 

PS Brands, LLC (“Planet Sox”) announced today that it has acquired the assets of Planet Sox Holdings LLC.

PS Brands, LLC was formed in a joint venture between Elie Levy and the Adjmi Apparel group. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Founded in 1994, PS began as a domestic manufacturer of family socks. In 1997, as the company expanded it launched its proprietary brands Planet Sox & Candy Girl. The Company has evolved into a significant player in Private label as well as on the character licensing front, holding such licenses as Camp Rock, Jonas Bros, iCarly, Hanna Montana, High School Musical, Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob, Star Wars, Barbie amongst many others.

Elie Levy, who remains a substantial owner in the business through his holding company E&E Hosiery; will serve as President & Chief Executive Officer of PS Brands, LLC said, “We are extremely excited to become part of the Adjmi Apparel Group and benefit from their retail knowledge and experience. This partnership with Adjmi will allow Planet Sox to realize its true potential.”

The Adjmi Apparel Group, a privately held company, founded in 1976, is a very large and important supplier of Boys, Girls, Ladies & Men’s apparel to major retailers under private label as well as under popular licenses such as Southpole, Champion & Skechers.
